A Brief History of Send With SES.

Send With SES started life as an internal tool in 2014. It was opened up to the public in 2018 as an easy to use email platform for anyone using AWS SES. A decade later - mid 2024 - Send With SES was rebranded as SENDUNE and moved to it's own website.

Since then, Send With SES has been converted to a website dedicated to informative articles about how to easily integrate AWS SES in to your product and save you time and money. If you are a startup or a lonely developer or any organisation that wants to use AWS SES, this is for you.

Yes, you do get a lot of information within the official SES documentation pages. But it's highly technical and geared towards developers. The API reference itself probably runs into 100's of pages. The articles in this website are more aligned for someone who quickly wants to get started with AWS SES.

The articles here are mostly written from the viewpoint of how to integrate with AWS SES via SENDUNE. However the content remains valid even if you do not want to use SENDUNE.

The Company.

We are Kepler Data Science, a distributed team HQ'd in Singapore. Our core business is in big data and related analytics. We move around and organise petabytes of data - that was otherwise orphaned/siloed - into central data warehouses. We build bespoke algorithms that help our clients make sense of volumes of data.

Most of us have been wrangling code for the last 15 years or so. More than knowing what to do, we know what not to do - a perk of having donkey's years behind us. This helps us keep server costs significantly low even while meeting 99.95% uptime SLA's.

We do all this while keeping things discreet, extremely minimal, and easy to use. Our minimalist and no-nonsense approach is what keeps our clients coming back to us.

We do not have the burden of venture capital. We have no growth targets or milestones to hit. That gives us immense independence and we intend to keep it that way.

We built SENDUNE (formerly Send With SES) sometime around 2014 as an internal tool for our clients primarily to stop handing over of sensitive email data to third party ESP's. The tool was made public in 2018.
